I haven’t signed in for quite a while. As I did, a splattering of posts about the new year came to the forefront. I didn’t really have a reason for choosing what I chose. But I chose to read The First Thing You Should Do in 2012 by Tom Basson.
The timing for me to see this was uncanny. During my time off from my other blog, I spent a ton of time going back to basics–just removing noise from my life so I could do exactly what Tom is talking about–to sit, reflect, and process my experiences over the last few years.
Like Tom, I’m a go-go-go person by nature. I love being busy. I love projects. I love moving. But I also have a side that is deeply reflective. And when I don’t give that side of myself attention, my body forces me to slow down. I’ve been up to my eyeballs with injury and illness for the last few months. But now that I’ve had that time to sit still, I’m recovering and I have a clarity of mind that I haven’t had in a while.
So here we go 2012. It’s hard to know what you hold but I will find it, regardless.
